Highly Commended by Judges at the 2015 Building Better Healthcare Awards – Financial Efficiencies

The Building Better Healthcare judges highly commended us in a room of 600 people spanning across FM companies, other private healthcare organisations and public sector trusts. We were delighted to be accompanied by Ramsay Healthcare to the awards and are extremely proud of this achievement. Plus, it was a great event, most enjoyable and very well organised by the @BBHAward team!

GPT’s very own Amanda Hepburn, won her own award from Celebrity host Gethin Jones, a much coveted Blue Peter Badge, from the celebrity host, Gethin Jones. This was due to our overwhelming spirit and participation during the awards event J.

This year, 25 awards were up for grabs across 6 categories, which meant that these were the largest Building Better Healthcare Awards so far. Celebrity host, Welsh TV presenter Gethin Jones said the judges ‘highly commended’ GPT Waste for their Total Waste Management project with Ramsay Healthcare Estates Team. During the project, GPT’s team of waste management experts made significant service improvements and changes to the waste management practices which led to substantial reductions in expenditure.

Since the contract began, GPT Waste reduced Ramsay Healthcare’s spend from the original benchmarked position by over £235k.

Since inception, GPT Waste’s project with Ramsay Healthcare has had a measurable impact on costs, significantly reduced spend whilst improving the quality of services. Having been tested in a working healthcare environment and delivered significant cost savings, this process could be adapted to work in other similar institutions.
