Faricimab, an overall good safety and tolerability profile, is a bispecific antibody targeting Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A). Faricimab prevents retinal vascular leakage, cell death and inflammation in retinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury and sCNV mouse models. Faricimab demonstrates statistically superior visual acuity gains versus Ranibizumab (HY-P9951). Faricimab can be used for retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (w-AMD), diabetic macular edema (DME) and macular edema following retinal vein occlusion (RVO)[1][2][3][4][5].MCE products for research use only. Description:Faricimab, an overall good safety and tolerability profile, is a bispecific antibody targeting Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A). Faricimab prevents retinal vascular leakage, cell death and inflammation in retinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury and sCNV mouse models. Faricimab demonstrates statistically superior visual acuity gains versus Ranibizumab (HY-P9951). Faricimab can be used for retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (w-AMD), diabetic macular edema (DME) and macular edema following retinal vein occlusion (RVO).
In Vitro:Faricimab (2000 ng/mL, 37 days) to pharmaceutical compounding and storage for up to 37 days has no impairment on its bispecific antigen-binding properties and has a structural integrity of the IgG1 Fc fragment[3].
In Vivo:Faricimab (10 mg/kg, i.p., twice interval 1 week for 1 or 5 weeks) reduces spontaneous choroidal neovascularization (sCNV), lesion leakage area and subretinal Iba1+, CD11b+, and CD45+ cell infiltration in JR5558 mice[4]. Faricimab (3 μg/μL, intravitreal injections, a single dose for 48 h) prevents ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury-induced retinal permeability and cell death in retinal I/R injury mouse model[4].
