Model RTubeVENT - Breath Condensate Collection Device
Exhaled Breath Condensate Collection from Intubated and Mechanically-Ventilated Patients in the ICU. The RTubeVENT™ breath condensate collection device is designed for ease of use in the ICU. It can be placed in-line in the expiratory limb of the breathing circuit or at the ventilator exhaust port. This non-invasive handheld device is fully self-contained and disposable. As the subject is ventilated, the RTubeVENT gathers breath condensate in a special cartridge designed exclusively for ventilator use. Single use disposable device for research-only use on mechanically ventilated patients, Optimized for ventilator use either inline or on ventilator exhaust port, Provides a safe, simple way to collect exhaled biomarkers in ventilator applications
- Replaces the one-way valve in the standard RTube™ with a free-flowing bi-directional design
- Clear 15mm diameter flow path straight through device with no valves, restrictions, or moving parts
- Uses same “syringe style” plunger and cooling sleeve as the standard RTube
- Can be used in any orientation – upside down, sideways, angled
- Interfaces seamlessly with standard 22mm tapered connections found on most breathing circuits
- Can collect condensate for an extended period without breaking circuit to replace cooling sleeve using our new Thermo-electric Cooler specifically for RTubeVENT
The cooling sleeve is necessary for efficient condensate collection. Usually stored in a laboratory freezer until needed, the sleeve is designed to easily slide over the RTube and create the perfect environment for condensate collection. An Insulating Cover is included with every Cooling Sleeve.
Made of solid aluminum, this is a stand alone device that is necessary to utilize the syringe style plunging built into the RTube. The one way valve easily slides along the polypropylene walls and pools the sample near the top of the tube for easy removal.
