Correlated SolutionsModel VIC-2D - Digital Image Correlation System

SHARE
The VIC-2D system by Correlated Solutions is a comprehensive digital image correlation solution that supports mechanical testing by providing detailed two-dimensional displacement and strain data for planar specimens. It operates using optimized correlation algorithms, measuring in-plane displacements across entire areas of interest and calculating the full-field strain to highlight strain concentrations. This system is notable for its ability to measure specimen sizes from microscopic to large scale due to adjustable optics, and it works well with high-powered microscopes such as ATMs or SEMs. The incorporation of the iris graphics engine into the VIC-2D system enhances data visualization capabilities significantly, allowing users to create high-quality presentations, perform theoretical data comparisons, and manage DIC data without third-party software. Additional features include precise motion resolution, synchronized data acquisition, and extensive exports and editing functionalities.

The VIC-2D system is a fully integrated solution that utilizes optimized correlation algorithms to provide non-contact, full-field, two-dimensional displacement and strain data for mechanical testing on planar specimens. In-plane displacements are measured at every point within the area of interest, and the full-field strain field is computed and displayed to easily identify strain concentrations. Sub-micron displacements can be measured, and local strains from 50 microstrain to over 2500% are achievable with extremely low noise levels and high accuracy. Specimen sizes ranging from microscopic to very large scale can be measured by simply adjusting optics. The included software module allows the system to be used with high-powered microscopes such as ATMs or SEMs to measure extremely small specimens. Lastly, the all-new iris graphics engine is now included in VIC-2D which brings a host of new functionality to DIC data visualization and eliminates the need to use third-party software to produce high-quality presentation material, perform theoretical data comparisons, and much more.
