The first stage

The patient is very weak and lies on bed.

Exercises performed:

• Transfer from a sitting position on the bed to the stander seat and back from the stander to the bed – with the help of a care giver.
• Standing up and sitting down – with the help of a care giver.
• Improvement of mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – with the help of a care giver.

The second stage

The patient is able to sit up in bed

Exercises performed:

• Transfer from a sitting position on the bed to the stander seat and back from the stander to the bed – with the help of a care giver.
• Standing up and sitting down – unaided.
• Improvement of mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – unaided.

The third stage

The patient is able to stand (in support) on their own feet.

Exercises performed:

• Transfer from a sitting position on the bed to the stander seat and back from the stander to the bed – with the help of a care giver.
• Standing up and sitting down – unaided
• Improvement of mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – unaided.

The fourth stage

the patient is able to stand (in support) on their own feet and perform small steps.

Exercises performed:

• Transfer from a sitting position on the bed to the stander seat and back from the stander to the bed – with the help of a care giver.
• Standing up and sitting down – unaided
• Improvement of mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – unaided.
• Independent performance of small steps – unaided.

Stander equipped as in photo (feet platforms removed, added feet separator, s shank support moved to the front position.

The fifth stage

The patient is able to stand (in support) on their own feet and perform medium steps.

Exercises performed:

• Transfer from a sitting position on the bed to the stander seat and back from the stander to the bed – with the help of a care giver or unaided.
• Standing up and sitting down – unaided.
• Improvement of mobility of ankle, knee and hip joints – unaided.
• Independent performance of medium steps – unaided.

Stander equipped as in photo (feet platforms removed, added feet separator, shank support removed)

The sixth stage

The patient is able to stand up and make medium steps using a walker.
