AKUTOL Hydrogel is a paraben-free hydrocolloid gel indicated for the treatment of local dry or moist wounds. AKUTOL Hydrogel is a medical device that indirectly supports wound healing by regulating the microenvironment of the wound.
It is intended for use on both acute and chronic wounds such as:
- superficial burns
- abrasions
- surgical wounds
- pressure ulcers
- leg ulcers
- Medical Device

AKUTOL™ Hydrogel contains an acidic carbomer stabilized by carnosine, which is a basic peptide naturally found in the skin. Covering dry wounds, such as abrasions and surgical wounds, with this carbomer has a sealing effect: it stops the evaporation of moisture and reduces the loss of fluid through the skin. Carnosine regulates acidic polymers and also acts as an antioxidant. Carbomer absorbs excess fluid from moist, exudative wounds. AKUTOL™ Hydrogel cools and softens contact with patches and/or bandages and is non-sticky. Instead of irritating parabens, AKUTOL™ Hydrogel contains the preservative silver citrate. Ingredients: acid colloidal carbomer, carnosine, water, preservative: silver citrate.
Closed wounds:
- clean and disinfect the area to be treated
- Spray AKUTOL™ Hydrogel onto the wound without touching the wound
- if necessary, use a patch or bandage
Open wounds:
- clean and disinfect the wound
- dry carefully
- apply a thick layer of gel (0.5-0.75 cm) to the wound
- use a bandage or patch
- leave the bandage in place for one to three days until the gel wears off
- limit the use of AKUTOL™ hydrogel if a scab forms on the wound
ATTENTION! First rinse the burns with water and only then carry out further treatment.
AKUTOL™ Hydrogel is not a means of first treatment in case of burns! Cool the injury immediately under lukewarm running water and continue cooling for approximately twenty minutes. Cooling must be done as quickly as possible, as its beneficial effect gradually decreases and disappears after about 30 minutes. To avoid hypothermia, the use of cold water is not recommended, especially if the burn covers a large area. Use AKUTOL™ Hydrogel only after the severity of the burn has been professionally assessed.
Special notice
There are no known side effects such as irritation or hypersensitivity. AKUTOL™ Hydrogel is not suitable for use on eyes, eyelids or mucous membranes.
Always consult a doctor in the following cases:
- larger, extensive or very deep wounds
- small heavily infected wounds
- slow-healing wounds or the imminent risk of complications.
- In such cases, AKUTOL™ Hydrogel can also help, but in no case is it sufficient as the only means of treatment.
Notice
- The nozzle application may be too strong when first used
- Before aiming the spray at the wound, test it (e.g. on a half-open palm)
- Do not use the product after the expiration date (stated on the packaging)
- For external use only
- Keep out of reach of children
- Store in the dark and dry at a temperature of 5 - 25 °C
