Viramed - Immunoassays for the Qualitative Detection
The EBV ViraStripe IgG and IgM tests are immunoassays for the qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against Epstein-Barr Virus antigens in human serum.
As line immunoblots based on nitrocelluose, the EBV ViraStripe® IgG and IgM use the following purified specific antigens: Epstein-Barr Virus Capsid (VCA gp125 und VCA p18), Early (EA-D p54) und Nuclear (EBNA-1 p76) antigens.
Charactersitic band constellations in IgG and IgM allow interpretations for clear diagnostic results which correlate with the different phases of an EBV infection.
The EBV ViraStripe® IgG and IgM Test Kits are composed of 50 nummerally sorted nitrocellulose strips. The test procedure can be performed manually as well as on common stripe immunoblot processors. The combination of the ViraCam strip scanner and the ViraScan software allows automated evaluation.
Each strip offers maximum reliability through an integrated control system consisting of a negative control band, a serum control, three conjugate controls and a cut-off control.
VCA gp125 - glycosylated, native Virus Capsid Antigen
For a reliable detection of a primary infection
VCA p18 - linearized Virus Capsid Antigen
At strong reactivity in IgG indicates a past infection
EBNA1 - important central diagnostic marker for IgG
Clear indication for a past infection
EA-D Antigen
Important during primary infection and reactivation
All relevant controls are integrated on the EBV ViraStripe® IgG, IgM
Safe interpretation according to guidelines and recommendations in the laboratory routine
Weak positive controls according to MiQ available
Comprehensive quality control for low antibody reactivities
