Astrion^® increases skin cells’ ability to produce more pro-collagen and hyaluronic acid as well as reduces collagen breakdown in the cells. Studies in cultured cells demonstrated that Astrion^® increased skin cells’ ability to produce 80% more collagen and 20% more hyaluronic acid, improved proline and glucosamine absorption in dermal cells by 27% and 11%, and inhibited MMPs (an enzyme that breaks down collagen and elastin in the connective tissues between the skin cells) production and collagen breakdown by 51% when compared to the control group. In a human study, Astrion^® demonstrated reduced wrinkles and melanin by 15% and 17% in 30 days.
