IntraumaModel PFF Titanium - Proximal Femur With Rail Option

SHARE

The PFF Modular Hook for the proximal femur provides all the stability features of the O’nil system and, if necessary, also offers the possibility of assembling the modular GT hook to stabilize the greater trochanter. The patented conical locking system is important to achieve angular stability in osteoporotic bones, where the grip of the screws may be compromised. Rather than using the compression of the plate on the bone to resist the patient’s load, the screws work like a fixator, and the limited-contact design helps to preserve the external periosteal blood supply. In addition, the innovative Rail system offers the possibility of creating a dynamic system thanks to a new type of screw with a cylindrical head that slides into the slot of the plate.

The proximal screws diverge from each other by 8° and the Ø8.5mm cannulated screw has a 13.5° angle to facilitate insertion and to follow the anteversion of the femoral neck, ensuring stable fixation in the trochanteric region.

The anatomical profile supports the reduction from metaphysis to diaphysis and facilitates the restoration of the neck-diaphysis angle.

  • The two self-locking conical proximal screws provide excellent stability regardless of bone quality.
  • The divergence between the two proximal screws provides a larger support surface.
  • The patented screw-support locking system allows an easy technique and eliminates the risk of cross-threading between screw head and the support.
  • Easy replacement of screws if necessary.
  • Available in 4 lengths, with left and right versions.

The PFF Rail proximal femur plate is indicated for proximal femur fractures including:

  • Fractures of the trochanteric region, simple trochanteric, cervicotrochanteric, trochanterodiaphyseal, pertrochanteric multifragmentary, intertrochanteric, inverted or transverse intertrochanteric fractures or with additional fracture of the medial cortex.
  • Fractures of the proximal end of the femur combined with ipsilateral diaphyseal fractures.
  • Fractures with presence of metastases of the proximal femur.
  • Osteotomies of the proximal femur.
  • Periprosthetic fractures.
