The products in the ViCALity Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) family are high purity calcium carbonates that meet United States Pharmacopeia standards. ViCALity PCC products provide consistent high purity, especially in lead, cadmium, mercury and other heavy metals, and excellent performance in a wide range of applications that includes foods, pharmaceuticals, nutritionals, personal care, and medical rubber goods.
The ViCALity PCC family encompasses a wide range of particle sizes, from 0.7 micron up to 4.5 microns, and a variety of particle shapes or morphology, resulting in calcium carbonates with a broad spectrum of physical properties such as surface area, tapped density and oil absorption. This controlled particle size and morphology presents the formulator with the tools to optimize product performance and sensory qualities in a wide variety of consumer products.
In pharmaceuticals, ViCALity PCC products are useful as an active ingredient or excipient, providing 40% calcium content the highest elemental calcium concentration of all calcium sources. In Food and Beverage, ViCALity PCC products provide an economical solution for calcium fortification, better mouth feel than ground calcium options, neutral organoleptic properties, good suspension and shelf stability.
