Ventilation Tubes
Ventilation tubes are operated into the ear drum. Ventilation disorders in the middle ear should thus be regulated and the draining of any secretion present from the tympanic cavity made possible. The most important distinguishing feature of the types available is the duration that the tubes can be used for.
There are three categories to differentiate between:
- Short-term tubes: ca. 1-6 months
- Middle-term tubes: ca. 6-12 months
- Long-term tubes: ca. 12 months and longer
