Engineering soluble and membrane bound proteins. Our flexible peptide display platforms allow for screening directly against both cells and recombinant target protein. The Orbit team incudes experts on structural biology and protein production to ensure the quality of target protein for affinity screening. Orbit has specific capabilities in the production and screening of traditionally challenging integral membrane proteins, including GPCRs and ion channels.
Membrane proteins can be screened either solubilised in detergent, or in reconstituted membrane systems such as nanodiscs or SMALPs to maintain a functional state after purification.
