Martina Tierney OT designed the Bariatric Sorrento to assist users up to 650 pounds / 45 stone / 295kg with pressure management, postural support and rehabilitation. This tilt in space wheelchair is designed to accommodate the body proportions of overweight patients and to reduce moving and handling injuries to care givers and nurses.

The Bariatric Sorrento is an excellent, heavy duty aid to moving and manual handling of bariatric patients and aims to help reduce the risk of patient and staff injuries while helping with early mobilization and therefore faster discharge from hospital*.
