In the second PFAS Fireside Chat episode, Dr. Craig chats with Bridger Ruyle (Ph.D. student, Harvard University) about this recent paper characterizing the unknown PFAS composition in fire-fighting foam (AFFF) mixtures. The study also measured the extractable organic fluorine content of the AFFF mixtures to demonstrate that the traditional, targeted analytical approaches do a poor job of measuring the PFAS compounds.
