The information provided by the MolecuLightDX on the presence of elevated bacterial burden informs the wound care professional’s decision making – in real-time and at-the-point-of-care. Red fluorescence is associated with wounds likely to contain elevated bacterial loads of >104 CFU/g and cyan fluorescence is associated with wounds likely to contain Pseudomonas aeruginosa at>104 CFU/g. Fluorescence imaging is performed in the dark but for facilities or sites of service that can’t turn off the lights, the MolecuLightDX DarkDrape is available as a disposable to create a portable dark environment to perform fluorescence imaging.
