Futuresource exhibition opens

An estimated 9,000 attendees from across the UK and Europe are expected to attend the three day Futuresource waste management exhibition, which opened at ExCeL London yesterday.

Organised by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and the Environmental Services Association (ESA), Futuresource will feature 300 exhibitors from all aspects of the waste management industry, including waste management companies, vehicles manufacturers, government departments, industry bodies, who will use the exhibition to announce new product innovations in six themed sector areas.

The exhibition’s first day featured appearances from Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Caroline Spelman, who addressed the waste management industry for the first time since taking office and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Lord Henley who holds the portfolio for waste and recycling.

The exhibition will also include contributions from Welsh environment minister Jane Davidson, Northern Irish Environment minister Edwin Poots.

Futuresource runs from 15th-18th June.
