Chemstations Inc.

The founding of Chemstations dates back over 40 years. Nathan Massey, our former president and CEO, and Dr. Mingder Lu, senior vice president and CTO, started the company in 1988. To build their leadership team, they sought out like-minded people and shared the Chemstations vision. CHEMCAD`s roots, however, can be traced back to 1968. The origin from which CHEMCAD was built - CHESS (Chemical Engineering Simulation System) - was developed by Dr. Rudy Motard and Dr. Ernest Henley at the University of Houston with a grant from the U.S. Navy. CHESS was ported to the personal computer (PC) in 1983 and became MicroCHESS, until two years later when it was renamed CHEMCAD. We purchased the rights to CHEMCAD after Nathan Massey and Dr. Mingder Lu founded our company.
