Founded in 1980, with global headquarters in Rome (Italy), COSMED is a privately owned company manufacturing Cardio Pulmonary, Metabolic and Body Composition diagnostic equipment. Since its foundation, COSMED`s primary goal has always been to improve the quality of its products and services through innovation and superior customer service. COSMED began with the design and manufacturing of Spirometers. In the early 80s, COSMED introduced the Pony, a very innovative portable desktop spirometer with immediate success in the European and Asian markets. More than 20,000 units are sold globally. In the mid-90s COSMED designed the first portable metabolic analyzer: the K4. This truly innovative device broke new grounds with metabolic measurement and rapidly became the best selling oxygen measurement device in Education, Sports Science and Research.
