DOME, Inc.

DOME, Inc. was founded in 1961 by Dr. Robert Ricketts. In 1967, Don and Dody Tichenor started developing products with Dr. Ricketts and DOME has expanded in the last 55 years into the company that it is today. The Cephalometic Tracing Template and the patented Abrasive Heads (shown in the `Supplies` on this website) are among the products developed with Dr. Ricketts during those early years. By the mid 1970’s, the Tichenors completed their purchase of DOME and many new products were designed and manufactured. DOME started building delivery units in 1970 with the introduction of the Glide Bracket which allowed delivery units to be cantilevered off of the chair base and to be easily moved forward and back. In an era of carpeted operatories and large delivery units, smaller, moveable delivery units were very well received.
