Plasmatreat was founded in Steinhagen near Bielefeld, Germany, in 1995. By developing its Openair-Plasma® technology, Plasmatreat established itself as one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of plasma equipment and as a globally operating provider of surface technology services. Through the acquisition of Plasma Technology Systems LLC in the USA, the company expanded its expertise to include Aurora low-pressure plasma technology. The main target areas for Plasmatreat applications are industrial microfine cleaning, surface activation and plasma coating of surfaces made of materials such as plastic, metals, glass, board, textiles and composites. The Plasmatreat group has a worldwide presence, employing more than 220 people at 34 locations, advising and supporting customers in nearly all manufacturing industries – automotive, transportation, electronics, packaging technology, consumer goods, life sciences, textiles and new energies.
