HISTORY

INTERESPUMA – Indústria de Poliuretanos Lda., is a Portuguese company, founded in 1991 with headquarters in Anadia, in Aveiro district, dedicated to the manufacture of polyurethane products, including flexible molded foam and integral skin.

THE ORTHIA BRAND

With the diversification of the portfolio and the search for new markets, INTERESPUMA, LDA. felt the need to create his own brand. In this context, the ORTHIA brand appears, with specific solutions for the orthopedics, comfort and well-being sector, which directly enters the market through a vast distribution network and successful partnerships.

The market recognizes the quality of the products and positions ORTHIA as a reference brand in the sector, whose image wins the trust of consumers.

In order to achieve the goals it proposes, INTERESPUMA, LDA. will reinforce participation in international events in the healthcare sector and increase industrial facilities for the specific production of Medical Devices made of foam for use in hospital context (surgery to the spine). It will also invest in energy efficiency in order to reduce energy consumption.

IF QUALIFICATION

With a Qualification Project included in the Portugal2020 program, and with the financial support of the European Union (FEDER), INTERESPUMA, LDA. aims to strengthen its competitiveness and increase its turnover.

In order to achieve the goals it proposes, INTERESPUMA, LDA. will invest in a diversification strategy that involves making production more flexible (endogenizing advanced control and management methods), strengthening R&D skills, implementing a strategy centered on the digital economy (e-commerce) for the baby line and by product certification.

SI INNOVATION: COVID-19

With a Productive Innovation Project: COVID-19 as part of the Portugal2020 program, and with the financial support of the European Union (FEDER), INTERESPUMA, LDA. intends to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

With this project, INTERESPUMA, LDA. intends to provide the company with the technological and human resources necessary for the automatic production of surgical masks, thus replacing imports abroad and intends to build a new industrial unit for the production of surgical masks.
