Inspired by a friendly wager with a colleague while at a scientific conference, Horry Jones, M.D, Ph.D., successfully developed the “Metabolimeter”, the first waterless Basal Metabolism Test instrument. This significant development led to the establishment the Jones Metabolism Instrument Company in Chicago, Illinois and ultimately the widespread availability of metabolic testing.
