Tidewave R&D AS
The Tidewave concept was originally invented by Audun Haugs, an active participant at the CMR Institute, the largest centre for development research in Scandinavia. He had developed a soft grip tool for the petroleum sector and realized that the technology could be used for other purposes. Together with medical staff at Haukeland Hospital he reused the patent by developing a curved turning mattress that should reduce the large problem with pressure ulcers. He managed to build and test a prototype before the project got put on hold after his sudden passing in 2008. However, in January 2017 Haugs` granddaughter, Elen Haugs Langvik, brought the concept to life again together with her two fellow students Bjørn Lorentzen and Nina Fagerheim Åmodt. A new company was formed: Tidewave R&D AS.
